Kimberly Higgins-Mays, MBA, M.P.H., CCP has spent over 19 years working in preventive health and wellness. Kimberly began her career at the Department of Health Services during the U.S. outbreak of the AIDS epidemic, testing people in housing projects for AIDS and syphilis, and locating their partners. It was during this time that she gained a greater appreciation for the value of helping others to make preventive health and wellness a priority.

Interested in continuing down this path she spent the next fifteen years leading and building, from the ground up, the prevention and wellness efforts for one of the largest health insurers in the U.S., serving as their National Director, Preventive Health and Wellness.

Kimberly is a strategic consultant and advisor to early stage health care start ups in the Silicon Valley, a frequent contributing writer to blackwomenshealth.com, and a member of various health committees and boards.

Kimberly holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Biology from the University of California Davis, a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, a Masters Degree in Public Health, from California State University Northridge, and Chronic Disease Management Certification from the Health Sciences Institute.

Kimberly resides in the San Francisco bay area with her husband and their four children.
